UZCARD and the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the national digital literacy program

On May 13, 2025, the official launch of the educational program on digital literacy organized by the UZCARD payment system with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place.

The program is aimed at increasing the level of digital literacy and cyber culture among the population. This is the first step towards systemic involvement of citizens in cyber security issues at the everyday level.

The opening ceremony was held in Fergana Valley and gathered more than 200 participants, including representatives of internal affairs bodies, banking sector, fintech companies, IT-park, cybersecurity experts and active users of digital services.

Welcoming speeches were made by Mirabdullayev Maksud, representative of the Cyber Security Center of the Operative Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rahmonkulov Bakhromjon, representative of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who supervises the project in the region, as well as Nurzhau Bolatbek, Deputy CEO for IT Security of UCMG LLC.

Botirjon Shokamolov, Deputy Director of the Information Security Department, and Nigora Azizkhodjaeva, Head of the Suspicious Transactions Detection Department, participated from the side of UZCARD.

The first day of the program covered key topics related to current threats in the digital environment, social engineering methods, personal data protection mechanisms and combating financial fraud, as well as an exchange of experience and best practices among cybersecurity experts.

On the second day, the field team continues its work in the field by organizing practical meetings with residents. Citizens will be explained key principles of digital security, methods of personal data protection and ways to prevent financial fraud. The format of live communication will make the information more accessible and allow to immediately answer the questions of the participants.

The program will become one of the largest digital literacy initiatives in Central Asia, with the potential to reach a wide population and have a meaningful impact on the level of cyber culture, and will continue until the end of 2025, covering 4 regions of Uzbekistan.
