On July 15 and 16, 2025, Samarkand State University will host a series of educational events aimed at improving digital and financial literacy. The CyberWeek program is organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the national payment system UZCARD.
On July 15, a press conference will be held where representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Bank and UZCARD will present key initiatives aimed at developing cyber security, protecting users and combating fraud in the field of non-cash payments. It is planned to discuss joint projects and identify vectors for further cooperation between public and private entities.
On July 16, a training seminar for employees of commercial banks, government agencies and IT-companies will be held. The program includes lectures and practical sessions devoted to:
- structure and architecture of the UZCARD payment system;
- basics of information security;
- modern types of fraud and ways of counteraction;
- mechanisms for identifying suspicious transactions.
Speakers include UZCARD specialists supervising key areas, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Bank.
With the rapid growth of digital services and the activity of online fraudsters, such events are of particular importance. Raising awareness, practical knowledge and joint efforts of the government and business are becoming critical for the protection of users and the development of a secure digital economy.
The event will be part of a broad program aimed at developing digital culture and strengthening the security of payment infrastructure in Uzbekistan. Samarkand is one of the key cities of this initiative, and similar events will be held in other regions of the country in the coming months.
