Cyber Week Held in Nukus: Key Outcomes of the Cybersecurity Forum

From August 18 to 22, Nukus hosted the regional stage of the CyberWeek program — a joint initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the UZCARD payment system. The event took place at the Ajiniyoz Nukus State Pedagogical Institute and brought together representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Bank, commercial banks, IT companies, and the media.

Within the framework of the program, participants discussed issues of cybersecurity in the financial sector, combating fraud, and developing digital culture. The program included a press conference, panel discussions, and practical modules where experts shared their experience in protecting payment services and implementing modern digital solutions.

Andrey Shishkin, Director of Information Security at UZCARD:
«Today, the issue of cybersecurity is essentially the issue of citizens’ trust in digital services. Initiatives such as CyberWeek make it possible to bring together experts and practitioners to develop real solutions for combating fraud and protecting users. For us, it is extremely important that every step of digital transformation is accompanied by an increase in security».

CyberWeek in Nukus continued the series of events previously held in Fergana and Samarkand, becoming another step in shaping a safe digital environment for users in Uzbekistan. Such professional events clearly demonstrate that the development of cybersecurity today is impossible without the joint efforts of the state, business, and society.
