UZCARD Took Part in a Charity Night Run in Bukhara

UZCARD employees participated in the annual Bukhara Night Race, supporting the promotion of sports and environmental initiatives.

On September 13, Bukhara hosted the annual Bukhara Night Race. The race began at the historic Ark Fortress, with participants running through the evening streets of the city’s historic center. The route passed by iconic landmarks — madrasahs, mosques, the Kalyan Minaret, and ancient trading domes.

In 2025, the course received an update — for the first time, the program included a half-marathon distance designed for experienced athletes. For amateurs, the usual formats remained: 5 km and 10 km races, Nordic walking for those who prefer a calmer pace, children’s races, as well as plogging — a unique format combining sports with environmental care.

The significance of the event was further enhanced by its timing, coinciding with the first Bukhara Biennale of Contemporary Art. From September 5 to November 20, exhibitions, performances, and workshops will bring together over 70 participants from different countries. The biennale unites contemporary art and Bukhara’s cultural heritage, turning the city’s historic center into an international creative hub.

In addition to the sports program, social and environmental responsibility remains a key focus of the race — under the Avvalgidan tozaroq initiative, participants can combine running with garbage collection, contributing to the city’s cleanliness.

UZCARD has traditionally supported projects promoting sports and healthy lifestyles. This year, employees from various departments represented the company in different race categories, demonstrating team spirit and commitment to an active way of life.
