On October 21, the UZCARD payment system hosted an introductory meeting with representatives of the E-commerce Association of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen partnerships and exchange experience in digital payments, online commerce, and cashless payments infrastructure.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current trends in e-commerce development across the region, regulatory and standardization matters, as well as potential joint initiatives aimed at fostering e-commerce, supporting entrepreneurship, and deploying modern digital solutions within the business environment.
Special attention was given to cross-border cooperation: in July of this year, UZCARD and ELKART launched a system for direct money transfers between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, marking an important step toward building a unified payment space in Central Asia.
Representatives of both sides emphasized the strategic importance of developing electronic services and expressed their readiness for further cooperation in innovative payment technologies and e-commerce.
