The first international Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum 2026 is taking place in Tashkent from August 24 to 26. Organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), the forum brings together representatives from government agencies, central and commercial banks, international financial organizations, fintech companies, investors, and the technology community. The UZCARD payment system is a key partner of the forum.
The three-day event serves as an international platform for discussing how the region’s financial system is changing under the influence of technology, new regulatory models, and the development of digital infrastructure. This year, the forum is held under the common theme “Al-Jabr: Unlocking Central Asia’s Fintech Value” and brings together more than 200 experts.
The first day of the forum was devoted to strategic issues regarding the development of Uzbekistan’s financial center and its role in the regional financial ecosystem. The focus was on the development of financial infrastructure, innovation in financial services, and opportunities for Central Asia’s integration into the global financial system. One of the key topics was the development of global and cross-border payments. Experts discussed how modern payment systems and interconnected infrastructure can contribute to the development of trade, money transfers, and international financial flows.
As part of the forum, the UZCARD payment system is featured at its own exhibition booth, where participants can learn about the company’s products, modern payment solutions, and innovative developments that contribute to the development of the national payment infrastructure.
The booth also features companies that are part of the management company “UCMG” LLC: ERA, BTech, Plum Tech, and ARCA. The UZCARD exhibition booth served as a venue for interacting with forum participants, exchanging experiences, and presenting the companies’ technological solutions and capabilities.
For UZCARD, these issues have direct practical significance. As a national payment system, the company is developing infrastructure that enables cashless payments and creates the technological foundation for the development of modern financial services. Participation in the forum allows UZCARD to share its expertise while also being part of an international professional dialogue on the future of the payments industry.
On August 25, the forum continued its work, shifting from strategic issues to a discussion of technologies, infrastructure, and new opportunities for the financial sector. On the second day, David Melikidze, CEO of “UCMG” LLC, took part in the professional discussion titled “Can We Trust AI Without Trusting What Sits Beneath It?” Experts discussed the responsible use of artificial intelligence in financial services and the role that reliable data, digital identification, payment infrastructure, and technological resilience play in this context.
UZCARD’s participation in the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum reflects the company’s commitment to fostering professional and international dialogue in the field of financial technology, exchanging experiences with leading industry players, and promoting the further development of Uzbekistan’s modern payment infrastructure.
UZCARD. Life, made easy.
