On June 29, 2022, UZCARD introduced its new service, developed in collaboration with JSCB “Kishlok Kurilish Bank” – “Cash Withdrawal by Code”, which allows UZCARD users to withdraw cash from ATMs without using a physical card. The presentation took place during a press conference organized by JSCB “Kishlok Kurilish Bank” at the “IMPACT.T” coworking center, dedicated to the development of modern banking services.
UZCARD consistently aims to expand its range of services and provide convenience for its customers. The new “Cash Withdrawal by Code” service is now available to UZCARD cardholders of all commercial banks in the country, provided they have a smartphone with the mobile application QUANT, developed by JSCB “Kishlok Kurilish Bank”.
“The virtualization process of electronic media, including payment cards, is one of the main trends in the development of modern banking technologies. The main advantages of the UZCARD ‘Cash Withdrawal by Code’ service, especially when the plastic card is left at home and cash is needed immediately, are convenience, time-saving, and security in transactions. To minimize potential risks, additional methods of operation confirmation have been introduced. We believe the new service will be in high demand among UZCARD cardholders. Banks, in turn, will have the opportunity to expand the functionality of their ATM networks and increase the number of users by implementing the new service,” said Lilia Khamidullina, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs at UZCARD.
The mechanism of this service is very simple and consists of the following steps:
Step 1: Open the mobile banking application QUANT and select the “Get cash” menu item. QUANT users need to update it to the latest version to activate the new service.
Step 2: Enter the required amount, and a security code will be sent to the application, which will be valid for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Select the “Cash withdrawal by code” section in the ATM menu and enter the verification code received in the application.
Step 4: After successful code verification, the ATM will display the selected amount and a standard commission of 1%. No additional fees are charged to the user for this service.
Step 5: For security purposes, a one-time SMS code will be sent to the user’s mobile phone number, which must also be entered in the ATM screen field. This SMS code will be active for only 3 minutes.
Step 6: After entering the data and confirming, the user will receive the cash.
Currently, the “Cash Withdrawal by Code” service is available to UZCARD cardholders in the mobile application and ATMs of JSCB “Kishlok Kurilish Bank”. The UZCARD team is continuously working on expanding the software functionality, resulting in a constantly updated network of ATMs and a list of partner banks connecting to the new service.
During the conference, a real-time demonstration of the service through an ATM of JSCB “Kishlok Kurilish Bank” was conducted. Additionally, other participants presented the updated banking application “QUANT” and the UZINFOCOM service “Biometric Digital Identification System MyID”.
