The final stage of the regional Cyber Week 2025 program—a joint initiative of the UZCARD payment system, the Central Bank, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan—was held at the Bukhara Engineering Technological Institute. The event brought together representatives of government bodies, banks, and the IT community for an open dialogue on digital literacy and cybersecurity.
During the press conference and working sessions, participants discussed key directions for protecting users of cashless services, modern methods of combating cyber fraud, and the development of robust digital infrastructure. UZCARD experts presented practical tools for payment system security, the MIA Cybersecurity Center outlined emerging forms of cybercrime, and representatives of the Central Bank shared their experience in threat monitoring and vulnerability detection.
“Modern cyber risks affect everyone—from public institutions and businesses to ordinary citizens. We firmly believe that user awareness and digital culture will become a cornerstone of cyber resilience. Our goal is not only to prevent online fraud, but also to foster a responsible approach to safety in the digital environment. This project contributes to strengthening public trust in digital services and advancing society’s overall cyber literacy,” emphasized Nurzhau Bolatbek, Deputy CEO for Information Security at UCMG LLC.
“Cyber fraud is becoming increasingly sophisticated: criminals employ social engineering and even artificial intelligence tools. We must combine technical measures with user education,” noted Maksud Mirabdullaev, representative of the MIA Cybersecurity Center.
As part of the regional stage, a hands-on seminar-training was held for employees of commercial banks, IT Park residents, and corporate IT specialists, where participants exchanged best practices in deploying protection tools and discussed open banking integration.
The Bukhara event concluded the series of regional Cyber Week 2025 meetings, previously held in Fergana, Samarkand, and Nukus. The program confirmed the demand for open dialogue among government entities, businesses, and the tech community, reinforcing partnerships within Uzbekistan’s national strategy to build a secure digital space.
