In pursuance of Decree No. PD-246 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 10, 2025, the UZCARD payment system, together with commercial banks of the Republic, is carrying out systematic work to develop payment infrastructure at fuel stations across the country.
As part of this initiative, consistent efforts have been made to equip fuel stations with modern payment terminals that enable the acceptance of cashless payments. Thus, according to the results of April–May of the current year, the aggregate payment turnover through UZCARD terminals amounted to nearly UZS 4 trillion.
During the period under review, Tashkent city became the regional leader in terms of electronic payment volume within the UZCARD infrastructure, accounting for 30% of the total volume of cashless payments. The top five regions with the highest cashless payment coverage also included Fergana, Tashkent, Namangan and Samarkand regions.
At the same time, in Namangan region, gas filling stations accounted for 66% of the region’s aggregate cashless payment volume. This ratio indicates the high intensity of gas motor fuel usage and the growing demand for cashless payment instruments at gas filling stations.
Similar dynamics were also observed in Kashkadarya region, where gas filling stations accounted for 58% of the total cashless payment volume, while the share of petrol filling stations stood at 42%.
In Jizzakh region, the payment structure was different: petrol filling stations accounted for 64% of the total cashless payment volume, while gas filling stations represented 36%.
Positive dynamics are also being observed in fuel cards, whose indicators demonstrate consistent growth. In May 2026, the average daily turnover of fuel cards in the UZCARD acquiring network amounted to UZS 3.5 billion, which is 34% higher than the April figure. Moreover, on certain days in May, transaction volumes exceeded UZS 4 billion, indicating growing user interest in cashless payment scenarios at fuel stations.
In turn, the consistent development of payment infrastructure at fuel stations contributes to increasing the accessibility of financial services and strengthening the culture of cashless payments. UZCARD, together with its partner banks, will continue working on the development of payment infrastructure and the implementation of new services for users across the country.
UZCARD. Life, made easy.
