Within the framework of the international campaign Global Money Week 2025 on the initiative of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of commercial banks and in cooperation with the payment system UZCARD, open lessons on financial literacy were organized in general education schools of the country. These educational events covered 421 schools across the country, providing access to basic knowledge in the field of finance for thousands of pupils.
This time the educational open lessons were held in Buka city of Tashkent region – in schools No. 1 and No. 3, where a team of UZCARD specialists met with eighth grade pupils.
The program was specially adapted for the age group from 12 years old and was based on a lively dialogue, interactive questions and examples from everyday life.
During the program, the students learned
– how a responsible attitude to money is formed;
– what types of financial fraud exist and how not to fall victim to them;
– what a banking and payment system is and what role UZCARD plays in it;
– how to behave safely in the digital environment.
The main focus was on simple and applied skills: from understanding the principles of cashless payment to conscious behavior when using bank cards and online services.
The format of the lecture implied dialog: students asked questions, shared stories and got access to understandable first-hand information.
The project is aimed at building a financial culture from an early age and is part of a broader strategy to develop digital literacy among the younger generation.
Global Money Week covers all regions of the country, and UZCARD’s participation in it is a contribution to the education of informed and financially savvy citizens.
