As part of a strategic partnership, UZCARD and payme are launching payments using Tez QR technology. The project aims to promote cashless and digital payments in Uzbekistan’s retail sector.
Thanks to this integration, more than 15 million payme users can now pay for purchases with their smartphones at over 110,000 retail locations across the country – anywhere Tez QR is available.
To celebrate the launch, payme is announcing a campaign: when paying via Tez QR in the app, users receive 3% cashback on every purchase. Accumulated cashback can be used with an active payme Plus subscription. Detailed campaign terms are available via the link.
How Tez QR Works
Tez QR is a one-time QR code generated on the payment terminal during checkout.
To make a payment, simply tell the cashier you would like to pay by card, open the payme app, scan the QR code displayed on the terminal, and confirm the payment. The purchase amount is already embedded in the code, so it does not need to be entered manually. No physical card is required.
You can pay for purchases using:
- UZCARD cards
- Humo cards
- an electronic wallet
- other bank cards connected to the payme app
With an active payme Plus subscription, additional options are also available: choosing the payment source, using the “Pay Later” service, and paying with accumulated cashback.
Transaction security is ensured because card details and PIN code are not shared with the merchant – payment confirmation takes place directly in the app.
