Beelab, in partnership with UZCARD, launched the UZCARD PAY contactless payment service, first ever making NFC payments available for UZCARD cards on Android smartphones. The service uses tokenization, which ensures an additional level of security and reduces the risk of fraud.
To use the service, you need to link your UZCARD bank card in the Beepul mobile app and place your smartphone on a POS terminal that supports contactless payment. Thus, the mobile device becomes a fully-fledged payment instrument, ensuring the speed and convenience of payments in everyday situations.
Payment data protection and transaction security were of top priority during service development. During payment, bank card details are not transmitted or stored; a special digital code (token) is used instead. This reduces the risk of fraud and provides additional protection for user data.
“Now, our users can quickly and conveniently pay for purchases in stores, cafes, public transportation, and other retail and service outlets with UZCARD PAY in the Beepul app, not using a physical card. A smartphone, kept handy at all times, turns into a fully-featured payment tool. All while, transaction security remains our top priority: with contactless payments, bank card details are not transmitted or stored, which guarantees the reliability of the service,” noted Anatoliy Pavlinov, Director of Beelab JSC.
“It’s crucial for us that UZCARD users can choose convenient and modern payment methods. With the launch of UZCARD PAY, the smartphone becomes another familiar payment tool that easily integrates into everyday life – whether it’s shopping, transportation, or services. “At the same time, transaction security and data protection remain key priorities for the UZCARD payment system,” emphasized UCMG CEO David Melikidze.
At the first stage, the service is available in the Beepul mobile application. Going forward UZCARD PAY is planned to be launched in other apps of UZCARD payment system members.
Today, more than 100,000 POS terminals in the UZCARD network across the country already support NFC technology, making UZCARD PAY accessible across Uzbekistan vast retail and service network.
