UZCARD, Uzbekistan’s national payment system, has become a founding partner of the inaugural international Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum, which will take place in Tashkent from August 24 to 26. The Forum will bring together representatives of government authorities, central banks, international financial institutions, commercial banks, fintech companies, investors and technology leaders to discuss the future of the financial system in Central Asia and neighboring regions, reflecting the international community’s growing interest in the development of financial technologies and ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan.
The event is organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN). Over the course of three days, participants will discuss the key challenges and prospects for the development of financial technologies, the digital economy and payment infrastructure, as well as practical solutions that support the advancement of a modern financial system and international cooperation.
The Forum’s agenda covers the key areas shaping the development of today’s financial industry, including digital payment infrastructure, global and cross-border payments, new financial services, artificial intelligence, digital assets and Open Banking. For UZCARD, many of these areas form an integral part of its day-to-day work aimed at developing the national payment system and introducing modern payment technologies.
As a national payment system, UZCARD consistently develops its technological infrastructure, facilitating the adoption of modern payment solutions for banks, businesses, and millions of users. UZCARD serves as a platform for projects aimed at advancing card products, e-commerce services, and digital financial solutions. The company also builds the technological foundation for launching new financial services, expanding cashless payment capabilities, and strengthening international cooperation with foreign partners, thereby contributing to the further development of Uzbekistan’s modern financial ecosystem.
The Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum will feature plenary sessions, expert panels and industry discussions dedicated to global payments, cross-border commerce, digital assets, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, investment and public-private partnerships — areas that are currently shaping the development of the global financial industry.
UZCARD’s participation as a founding partner of the Forum reflects the company’s commitment to fostering professional dialogue between the government, the financial sector and the technology community, supporting initiatives aimed at developing Uzbekistan’s modern payment infrastructure and digital economy, and expanding international cooperation in the field of financial technologies.
