From October 8 to 10, 2025, the final stage of the regional CyberWeek program—a joint initiative of the UZCARD payment system and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at fostering digital culture and strengthening cybersecurity—will take place at the Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute.
The event will open with a press conference featuring representatives of the MIA, the Central Bank, and UZCARD. The opening will present key initiatives to protect users in the sphere of cashless payments, new approaches to combating fraud, and experience in building a secure national digital infrastructure.
On October 9, a seminar-training will be held for employees of commercial banks, IT Park residents, and representatives of enterprises responsible for information technologies. As part of the business program, UZCARD specialists will discuss the development of payment systems and tools to counter cyber fraud, experts from the MIA Cybersecurity Center will address contemporary cybercrimes, and the Central Bank will share its experience in threat monitoring and vulnerability detection. A report on the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation in the field of digital security will also be presented.
Special attention will be given to exchanging best practices in deploying cyber-defense tools and to the development of open banking technologies, which are becoming an important vector in integrating financial services with the digital economy.
CyberWeek in Bukhara concludes a series of regional meetings previously held in Fergana, Samarkand, and Nukus. This project has confirmed the demand for open dialogue among government bodies, business, and the technology community, making it an important part of the national strategy to build a secure digital environment.
