July 16, 2025 — the national payment system UZCARD (“Common Republican Processing Center” JSC, Uzbekistan) together with the national payment system Elcard (“Interbank Processing Center” CJSC, Kyrgyzstan) have launched a money transfer service between cards of the two payment systems.
Now cardholders in Uzbekistan can directly send funds to Elcard cards, and Kyrgyz citizens can send funds to UZCARD cards. The new service is the result of a strategic partnership between the two national operators and is aimed at strengthening financial ties and increasing convenience for citizens on both sides of the border.
Key features of the service:
- Bilateral transfers — from UZCARD card to Elcard card and vice versa;
- Favorable exchange rate for cross-border transactions;
- Accessibility — for users in Uzbekistan – at the first stage through the UNIRED application (“Universalbank” JSCB), with subsequent connection of other commercial banks; in Kyrgyzstan the service is implemented in the Elcard Mobile application.
«We consider the launch of cross-border transfers as an important step in the development of regional payment interaction. Together with Elcard, we are creating an infrastructure that makes everyday financial transactions easier, more accessible and reliable for citizens of the two countries. This partnership reflects our commitment to digital innovation and mutual economic development», — emphasized “UCMG” LLC Commercial Director – Zakirov Olimjon.
«Today, solutions that unite countries, families and businesses are more important than ever. The new service of transfers between Elcard and UZCARD cards is a step towards financial openness and convenience. We are confident that it will be useful both for labor migrants and those who support relatives on both sides of the border», — noted the Chairman of the Board of Interbank Processing Center CJSC – Turatbekov Altymysh.
The launch of the new service was a logical continuation of the memorandum of cooperation signed at the end of last year within the framework of UZCARD FORUM in Tashkent. Then both parties agreed to develop joint initiatives in the field of payment technologies.
