Financial Literacy from an Early Age: How UZCARD KIDS Helps Build Healthy Habits

From October 1 through November 1, the Tashkent Zoo is hosting “UZCARD Weekend Month.” Special admission terms apply for young UZCARD KIDS cardholders, and games and educational activities are held on weekends. The project continues UZCARD’s work to develop financial literacy among children and teenagers through hands-on experience and relatable real-life situations.

The project is being implemented by UZCARD in partnership with the Tashkent Zoo and ATTO. Children ages 7 to 16 can visit the zoo for free when paying for a ticket with a UZCARD KIDS card from any bank, and a 40% discount on children’s tickets applies when paying with any other UZCARD.

Validators are installed at the turnstiles at the entrance, so children can tap their UZCARD KIDS card themselves to pay for admission. This simple experience helps them feel more independent when handling money.

On weekends, the zoo also hosts workshops, mini-quests, face painting, elephant feeding, and other activities for children. On these days, ANORBANK representatives issue UZCARD KIDS cards right on the zoo grounds and explain the card’s features to parents.

This format allows children to become familiar with financial tools in a familiar setting. Having their own card, a small personal budget, and the ability to pay for purchases on their own become part of the family’s everyday experience.

UZCARD KIDS gives children the opportunity to make their first independent payments and learn to manage their available funds, while allowing parents to monitor spending and gradually give their children more responsibility.

This practical approach is complemented by game-based and educational activities. UZCARD conducts financial and digital literacy classes for children and teens, using interactive exercises and board games so that new concepts are learned through hands-on experience rather than just theory.

At the same time, parents continue to play a key role in financial education. It’s important not only to monitor a child’s spending but also to discuss their decisions: what’s worth spending money on right now, what can be put off, and how to allocate the available funds. These conversations help gradually foster a mindful attitude toward money.

UZCARD KIDS combines a child’s practical experience, educational formats, and parental involvement—three components that help gradually develop the skills needed to manage money independently and wisely.

UZCARD. Life, made easy.
