The \u201cUZCARD\u201d payment system, together with \u201cAnorbank\u201d, has developed a new card product called the Business Card, which will serve as an additional tool for small businesses using mobile phones as a payment acceptance terminal (SoftPOS). The Business Card is issued to self-employed individuals and individual entrepreneurs and will be especially convenient for those operating in the retail and services sectors.<\/p>\n
The new card product is fundamentally different from a corporate card and can be integrated with SoftPOS to enable automatic transfer of funds from the terminal to the card without any payment fees. This functionality provides micro and small businesses with additional convenience, allowing access to funds on the card even on weekends and holidays. In addition, holders of the Business Card can withdraw cash via ATMs. However, P2P transactions are not available for this type of card.<\/p>\n
Using the Business Card, business owners can purchase office supplies, pay utility bills and taxes, and make other payments related to their business activities.<\/p>\n
The project was implemented with regulatory support from the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, within the framework of which amendments and additions were made to the Regulation on the Rules for Issuing and Circulating Bank Cards in the Territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Under this regulation, a new type of bank card has been approved for issuance to self-employed individuals and individual entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that during the development of the Business Card within the \u201cUZCARD Express\u201d project, the activities of numerous merchants operating in regional food and clothing markets were analyzed. Based on the research results, entrepreneurs provided positive feedback regarding the proposed features of the product and expressed interest in its practical use.<\/p>\n
According to the results of 2025, the volume of payments made via UZCARD cards through SoftPOS exceeded the 2024 figure by more than 20 times. The largest growth was demonstrated by \u201cAnorbank\u201d, whose share in the overall SoftPOS payment structure amounted to 74%. The top three also included \u201cIpoteka Bank\u201d and \u201cHamkorbank\u201d, with shares of 9% and 7%, respectively. \u201cSQB\u201d also showed significant growth: from July to December 2025, the bank\u2019s SoftPOS transaction volume increased 22-fold.<\/p>\n
The largest SoftPOS turnover is still recorded in Tashkent, where merchants account for 81% of all transactions. At the same time, Tashkent\u2019s share of the total payment structure decreased by 6% compared to 2024, due to the active expansion of SoftPOS usage in the regions. The highest growth rates were observed in the Khorezm, Jizzakh, Namangan, and Samarkand regions, which together accounted for a combined share of 16%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":21247,"template":"","categories":[81,58],"class_list":["post-21243","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","category-press-en"],"acf":{"news_gallery":false},"yoast_head":"\n
