Tenge Bank, Halyk Bank and the UZCARD payment system have signed a trilateral memorandum of cooperation. The initiative is aimed at expanding cashless payment opportunities for UZCARD cardholders outside Uzbekistan.
The signing of this memorandum marks an important step in developing cross-border payment infrastructure and strengthening financial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, commented Murat Koshenov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board:
“Today, we are taking an important step toward ensuring that the familiar convenience of cashless payments does not stop at the border. The signed memorandum will allow citizens of Uzbekistan, when travelling to Kazakhstan, to freely use their local cards, including UZCARD cards, which they use daily for purchases in their home country. In the near future, guests from Uzbekistan will be able to use any of their payment cards throughout Kazakhstan — in shops, hotels and restaurants — as simply and conveniently as at home, thanks to Halyk Bank’s terminal infrastructure”.
Beibyt Khamitovich Faleev, Chairman of the Management Board of Tenge Bank JSCB noted:
“The signing of this memorandum is a logical continuation of our strategy to develop cross-border payment services. It is important for us that Tenge Bank customers and UZCARD cardholders are able to use familiar financial instruments outside the country without restrictions. Together with our partners, we are building a convenient and accessible payment environment that meets the modern expectations of customers and contributes to the development of financial integration between our countries”.
“We are confident that our joint work with Tenge Bank and Halyk Bank will serve as a solid foundation for the further development of digital financial services, the implementation of new technological solutions and the increased accessibility of cashless payments in the region,” commented Olimjon Zakirov, Commercial Director of UCMG LLC.
