On June 13, the first session of the new Hamroh Biznes Maktabi cohort was held in Fergana. Hamroh Biznes Maktabi is an educational initiative implemented by HAMROH in partnership with ALPHA and supported by UZCARD. The project is aimed at supporting women who are developing their own businesses and creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurship across the regions of Uzbekistan.
Participation in the programme is free of charge and based on a competitive selection process. The training is designed both for aspiring women entrepreneurs and for women who already run a business and seek to take their projects to the next level.
The introductory module focused on market research and consumer behaviour. During the sessions, the participants learned about tools for analysing the competitive environment, identifying target audiences and determining customer needs. The knowledge gained will help them make more effective business decisions and identify new opportunities for the growth of their projects.
“When we launched Hamroh Biznes Maktabi in Nukus, we saw how much strength, how many ideas and how much desire to grow women in the regions have. In a short period of time, two cohorts have already completed the training, and for us this became strong confirmation that such support is truly needed. Today, we are coming to the Fergana Valley so that even more women can feel that they are not alone on the path to developing their business,” HAMROH specialists emphasised.
“ALPHA has placed emphasis on the fact that the programme’s objective is not simply to deliver a set of lectures, but to guide each participant towards a concrete result in her business. Therefore, the training is built around work on the participants’ own projects, with their presentation and defence at the final stage: the participants master market and financial analysis tools and immediately apply these skills to develop solutions for their own businesses,” ALPHA noted.
Supporting educational initiatives aimed at developing women’s entrepreneurship is one of the key areas of UZCARD’s social activity.
“We are convinced that investment in education and in the development of women’s entrepreneurial competencies contributes to strengthening regional economies and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth. By supporting Hamroh Biznes Maktabi, UZCARD contributes to building a favourable environment for the development of women’s entrepreneurship in the country,” UZCARD emphasised.
The new Hamroh Biznes Maktabi cohort will continue a series of educational modules in which participants will study various aspects of running a business — from strategic planning and marketing to financial management and the development of customer relations.
Applications for participation in the next cohorts of the programme can be submitted on the website.
